The T-TECH Project is back on track
The T-TECH Project has been relaunched: the specifications and the time schedule have been revised. The Campania Region has requested the declaration of confirmation of participation in the partnership of the T-TECH project, presented in January 2020 by the leader Officine Meccaniche Irpine S.r.l., in response to a ragional call aimed at financing research and development projects for Enabling Systems and Technologies for the Aerospace Industry.
The project aims at the design, sizing and verification of moving surfaces of a new generation tiltrotor that Leonardo Helicopters is developing as part of the Clean Sky 2 program called NGCTR (Next Generation Civil TiltRotor).
The overall goal is to use a thermoplastic composite material (with high recyclability characteristics), an innovative lightning protection system (based on Cold Spray deposition) and an advanced structural monitoring system (Structural Health Monitoring, SHM) based on an innovative network of sensors distributed on the surface itself.
Leonardo Helicopters within the perimeter of Clean Sky 2 (by 2023) as an end user will develop the ground and in-flight qualification of the prototype.
