The E-Brake Project is part of the European Clean Sky 2 research and development program, created to launch public-private partnerships between the European Commission and the European aviation industry with the aim of creating innovative aircraft in terms of environmental impact, i.e. more efficient in consumption and generally more respectful of the environment throughout their entire life cycle.
Grant Agreement number: 821079
Call di riferimento: H2020-CS2-CFP07-2017-02
E-Brake is developed under Systems - Integrated Technology Demonstrators (SYS ITD) platform, whose main objective is the creation of systems to be integrated into Piaggio Aerospace's SAT (Small Aircraft Transport) technology demonstrator.
Abstract
Design, manufacture, test and certify an innovative electro-mechanical braking system for small aircrafts (SAT) taking into account the mass and weight, energy consumption and safety constraints imposed by aeronautical applications.
Main Objectives
Prototype working, tested and fully compliant with the project requirements complete with all components and documentation necessary for certification. The prototype of the new electro-mechanical braking system will also be integrated into the landing gear of an existing aircraft (P.180 EVO of Piaggio Aerospace). The new braking system will be derived as an innovative development of already existing and certified solutions.
In addition to this objective, the project includes other activities and objectives (connected and complementary to the primary objective) which, in summary, consist of the study of electro-mechanical actuators, development of command logics with diagnostic, monitoring and anti-skid control functions, integration and certification of the new braking system.
