The project is part of Horizon Europe (specifically the Clean Aviation Joint Undertaking): the goal is to design innovative fuselage and wheelhouses suitable for the future regional hybrid-electric (HER) aircraft, which will contribute to the overall greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction goal. HERFUSE will study challenges related to fuselage and empennage layout, materials, components, manufacturing, and assembly arising from the integration of fuselage systems for a hybrid-electric regional aircraft.
